CTD kills target killer, arrests three suspects

Three men wanted for killing policemen arrested during raid in Korangi

The counter terrorism department police gunned down a suspected alleged target killer in a raid in Korangi in the wee hours of Monday.

In another raid in Korangi, three alleged target killers were arrested.

In a statement, the CTD Operations-I police said they tipped off about the presence of members of a criminal gang in Bagh-e-Korangi.

They raided the criminals’ hideout and in the ensuing shootout one of them was injured while the others escaped.

The injured man, later identified as Naushad alias Baraa Sheru, was taken to the Civil hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A pistol was found on him.

Naushad alias Baraa Sheru was a notorious contract killer and wanted by the Pakistan Bazaar and Orangi Town police stations for murdering Ajmal and Nazish Iraqi.

He had threatened to kill constables Danish, Kamran, and Iqbal and ASI Wajid Butt who were posted at the Iqbal Market police station after they had arrested members of his gang.

In a separate raid, the CTD Operations Wing arrested three men involved in policemen killings.

Mohammed Irfan Qureshi, Mohammed Rehan alias Lamba and Mustafa were rounded up after a gun battle with police.

They were found in possession of four 30-bore pistols. It was found that the three men had killed several people including two police officials and political activists.

They had killed sub-inspector Nazeer Khaskheli in the Sharea Faisal police remit and sub-inspector Alamgir Shah who was posted at the CTD’s sectarian terrorists intelligence group, Civil Lines.

They had also murdered Bhoora and Abdul Salaam of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi, Rizwan Barbeque Wala, Nabi Khan Pathan, Ashraf, Riaz, three Pakhtun men, and four people on May 12, 2007.
