PESHAWAR: Test cricketer Yasir Hameed on Thursday termed the December 16 attack on Army Public School and College a national tragedy.
He expressed his condolences with the bereaved families by offering fateha during his visit to the school.Soon after arriving in Peshawar, Yasir Hameed went to the school and remained there for some time. He condemned the attack on innocent schoolchildren and termed it a horrifying act that united the entire nation
As part of expressing solidarity with the injured children, Yasir Hameed handed over cricketing items, including caps and shirts to the officials of Pakistan Army for onward distribution to the students.
Later, he visited the Combined Military Hospital and distributed kits among the injured children.He vowed to stand with the bereaved families. “I pray to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in peace and give courage to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss with courage,” he said.
The cricketer said the whole world was shocked at the inhuman act of terrorism.“Only those who suffered the loss can understand the impact of the tragedy,” he said.He extended his sympathies with the bereaved families and also expressed the hope that the children would resume studies in the school.
