This refers to the article, ‘CPEC imperilled’, (Oct 28) by Iftekhar A Khan. The writer has highlighted the criticism directed against the CPEC at the national and international levels. Western powers and India are not in the favour of the project as it is against their geopolitical interests. Within the country, opposition parties are deterring the smooth operations of the project.
The CPEC project is not only in the best interest of the country but the entire region of South Asia will benefit from it. All the surrounding states are looking for an opportunity to join the project and boost the economy. This national project shouldn’t be jeopardised by riots and dharnas. It ought to be completed as it is a national project and the whole nation supports it.
