Police are being provided 35 B7-Plus armoured personnel carriers (APCs) and 100 B4-Plus bulletproof vehicles to make the law enforcers’ operations against criminals more effective.
Sindh police chief Ghulam Hyder Jamali said the APCs and bulletproof vehicles were being repaired and upgraded to B7-Plus and B4-Plus, respectively, and were being handed over to various departments in different phases.
Jamali said B7-Plus APCs were bombproof, could stop steel and high-calibre bullets and could seat up to 10 personnel with weapons.
He said the APCs were also air-conditioned and equipped with night-vision cameras, adding that the vehicles would prove effective in operations against terrorists and large criminal gangs.
The police chief said B4-Plus bulletproof vehicles were effective against small- and medium-calibre weapons, adding that operations against terrorists and other criminals across the province, especially in Karachi, would bring better results with these vehicles.
