PTI lawyers stage demo against govt

Set up camp to provide free legal assistance to workers in case of their arrest

GUJRANWALA: The PTI Lawyers Wing on Thursday set up a camp in front of the DCO Office to provide free legal assistance to PTI workers in case of their arrest by police to stop them for participating in the Islamabad Dharna. Dozens of lawyers participated in the camp and chanted slogans against the government. They warned the district administration and police not to take any action against the PTI workers.

 

LPG manufacturers stage demo

GUJRANWALA: The LPG manufacturers staged a demonstration against sealing of their factories in front of the DCO Office here on Thursday.

They chanted slogans against the district administration. In the meantime, DCO Muhammad Amir Jaan called the protesters’ leaders in his office and said that the district administration was conducting raids against those, who had no NOC for LPG sale or refill. The protesters’ leader, Abdul Rashid, told the DCO that they had already submitted their files to the OGRA for their registration.

ACE SEEKS AUDIT PARAS RECORD: Anti-Corruption Establishment Director Rana Abdul Shakoor has asked the heads of 55 government departments to submit record of audit paras regarding development schemes of the last three years.

In a letter, he asked the heads of the departments including, city district government, highways, public health engineering, housing, building, TMAs, local government, labour, agriculture, food, forest, excise and taxation, Wasa, police and education, that the ACE special teams would investigate the audit paras to fix the responsibility. He said that action would be taken against those, who were declared guilty in the audit paras, and cases would also be registered against them.
