Black day observed against atrocities in IHK
From Our Correspondent
FAISALABAD: A black day was observed against cruelties in the Indian Held Kashmir throughout the district on Thursday.
In this connection, the Faisalabad Arts Council arranged a seminar at the Social Welfare Complex. Speaking on the occasion, EDO (CD) Khalid Bashir said that October 27, 1947 was the darkest day in the IHK’s history when India violated all international norms and democratic values by landing its troops there and occupied the territory against the will of Kashmiri people. He called for resolving the Kashmir issue as per resolutions of the United Nations. He urged the international community to take notice of the gross human rights violations in the IHK. He said that Pakistan would continue its support till the realisation of the right to self-determination of the Kashmiris.
Station Director Radio Pakistan Mehr Azhar Ali hoped that the sun of independence in the IHK would soon be raised. He said that Pakistan would continue diplomatic and moral support of the Kashmiri people.
Resident Director Arts Council Tariq Javed said that India’s rigid and unrealistic stance on Kashmir was the main hurdle to peaceful settlement of the conflict. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif raised the Kashmir issue on every forum. During the seminar, prayer was also offered for the independence of the Indian Held Kashmir. Dr Jafar Hassan Mubarik, Muhammad Saleem and others also spoke on the occasion.
