KARACHI: Three hat-tricks were scored on the fifth day of Karachi Hockey Association (KHA) inter-club hockey competition.
Abdul Rauf Eleven thrashed Waheed Hockey Club 6-1 and National Hockey Club crushed Baldia Eagle Hockey Club 12-1 at Abdul Sattar Edhi hockey stadium on Thursday.
In the first match, Rauf Eleven’s centre forward Arif Bhopali and Tasneem Usmani played outstandingly and demolished the defenders, scoring two goals each. Waseem Aslam and Jabra netted one goal each.
The lone goal for the losers was scored by Waheed.
After the match Waheed Hockey Club registered protest with the tournament director. They said that Rauf Eleven had three players from Hyderabad.
In the second match, National Hockey Club recorded a huge 12-1 victory against Baldia Eagle due to hat-tricks of forwards Yousuf (four goals) and Imran (three). Asim Abbasi, Muhammad Ali, Mudassar Raheem, Arsalan Haider and Wahab scored one goal each.
At Iftikhar Syed stadium Hanif Khan Eleven routed Airport Hockey Club 11-3.
Centre forward Fazeel Khan netted four goals, Imran scored two, while Faheem Khan, Asim Khan, Zohaib Khan, Zonair Khan and Fahad Khan scored one each. Airport Club’s Arif, Anwer Ali and Nadeem Ali scored one apiece.
In another match at the same stadium, Iftikhar Syed Eleven defeated Gulberg Hockey Club 5-1. The victorious team’s Adil Askar netted two goals, while Muhammad Ahmed, Mohsin Senior and Mohsin Junior scored one each. Ali Hasan was the lone scorer for Gulberg Hockey Club.
