Security in the city was put on high alert following the Quetta Police Training College attack on Tuesday.
According to a police spokesman security was put on high alert in the town on special directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi.
Rawalpindi Police with Elite Force personnel initiated search operations in different areas.
Strict checking of vehicles is also being conducted at eight entry and exit points of the city, he said adding security is on high alert at all important places.
