Lists prepared to arrest PTI leaders, workers

GUJRANWALA: Police and other law enforcing agencies have allegedly prepared the lists of active PTI leaders and workers for their arrest to stop them from participating in ‘Dharna’ in Islamabad on November 2.
Sources told that the police had made a plan to launch a crackdown on the PTI leaders and workers, which could be started any time after approval from the higher authorities. On the other hand, local PTI leaders, including Rana Naeemur Rehman, Ali Ashraf, Ch Siddique and Ch Tariq Gujjar, said that the government could not stop them by force to participate in ’Dharna’ and all the government efforts in this would be fruitless. They told that all the PTI workers and leaders were ready to face the government action. Sources told that the PTI leaders and workers had received instructions from the higher leadership to leave their houses two days before the ‘Dharna’.
MEDICAL CHECK-UP ORDERED: Judicial Magistrate Saima Yaqoob on Tuesday issued directions to the DHQ Hospital MS to conduct medical check-up of a deaf and dumb woman.
Zohra of Emenabad had filed an application stating that her husband Abdul Aziz, his brother and mother had allegedly tortured her over dowry issue. She filed an application for medical check-up. The medical report would be submitted in the court.
DACOITS ON THE RAMPAGE: Dacoits looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables in 11 incidents here on Tuesday.
Azeem was on his way when dacoits snatched cash and other valuables from him at Ahmad Nagar while bandits looted Rs 23,000 and two cell phones from a man at Noshera Virkan. Robbers snatched Rs 30,000 and three cell phones from Hanif at Kamoke while dacoits looted Rs 14,000 and two cell phones from Qaisar at Cantt. Mubashar was deprived of Rs 15,000 and a cell phone at Garjakh while armed men intercepted Rehana Bibi and snatched Rs 16,000, gold ornaments and two cell phones from her. Unknown thieves took away cash, gold ornaments, two laptops and other valuables from the house of Hafizullah. Thieves stole motorcycles of Ahsan, Asim, Dilawar and Azam from different places of the city.
RECORD OF COMPLAINTS SOUGHT: The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment DG has ordered the revenue officers of Gujranwala Division to submit complete record of complaints and enquiries initiated against land record officials.
It was told that many citizens had submitted applications in the ACE DG Office against land record officials on corruption charges. The citizens were allegedly asked to give bribe to get their right.
TRANSFER OF RO BANNED: The Election Commission has imposed ban on the transfer of returning and assistant returning officers appointed for the Local Government polls here.
A letter has been sent to the commissioner and all DCOs of the division in this regard. The letter said that no returning and assistant returning officer would be transferred till completion of the polls.
