PML-Q to attend Islamabad sit-in: MNA

BAHAWALPUR: PML-Q MNA Chaudhry Tariq Basheer Cheema Tuesday said the party will actively participate in Islamabad sit-in.

Addressing a press conference, he said he would lead the PML-Q workers’ rally to Islamabad from Bahawalpur.

Condemning the Quetta tragedy, he said time has come to reply terror activities of Indian agency RAW.

He said it is beyond comprehension that whenever the opposition campaign gains momentum against the government, India accelerates its terror activities in the country.

He said the Panama leaks would follow Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif where ever he would go.

 

3 DIE IN ACCIDENT: Three people were killed in a road accident on Tuesday.

In the collision of two motorcycles near Danish School Chishtian motorcyclists Muhammad Arshad and Kala died.

Muhammad Nadeem suffered injuries when his motorcycle was hit by a tractor trolley on Chishtian Hasilpur Road.

Bushra Bibi died and her daughter Tabanda and relative Raja Amin suffered injuries when a bus hit their motorcycle.

SPORTS FACILITIES FOR GIRL STUDENTS PROMISED: Member of Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting MNA Begum Parveen Masood Bhatti Tuesday said the government was committed to extending modern art facilities to promote sports and educational facilities for girl students.

Addressing a joint ceremony of an annual sports day and a prize distribution ceremony, where as chief guest she said Bahawalpur has the privilege of producing world class hockey players.

She mentioned the names of Flying Horse Samiullah, Kaleemullah, Muteeullah and Dr Atif Bashir, Umer Bhutta and Muhammad Rashid.

The MNA stressed the importance of promoting sports culture that is vital for the balanced, productive and enlightened socialization of the younger generation.

Earlier, Principal Government Girls Higher Secondary School Satellite Town, Bahawalpur Mrs Zamurd Shaheen in her welcoming address briefed the chief guest on achievements of the students in curricular and extracurricular activities.

YOUTH COMMITS SUICIDE: A youth committed suicide on Tuesday.

Muhammad Tariq, 20, of Dharanwala exchanged harsh words with his family members and ate poisonous pills and died instantly.

CRACKDOWN ON GAMBLING: Ahmadpur East City police Tuesday launched a crackdown on gambling dens on the special direction of DPO Ishfaq Ahmad Khan and arrested 17 gamblers with Rs 23,000 stake money and two cars.
