ATCs directed to expedite cases

THE Lahore High Court Chief Justice Khwaja Imtiaz Ahmad on Wednesday directed the Anti-Terrorism Courts in Punjab to expedite disposal of cases.
The Chief Justice was chairing a meeting to review disposal of cases registered under Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997. Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik, also Administrative Judge of Anti-Terrorism Courts in Punjab, and all presiding officers of Anti-Terrorism Courts attended the meeting.
He expressed his satisfaction over the working of the courts and directed the presiding officers to expedite the disposal of cases as per spirit of law.
The meeting decided that trial of these cases would be given priority, with hearings to be held on a day-to-day basis.
