ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Cultural heritage Pervaiz Rashid here on Friday paid rich tributes to Chinese artists for their love and association with Pakistan that was truly reflected in their paintings, displayed here at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts.
There were 56 paintings along with 150 photographs and Chinese calligraphic work which put at the exhibition that was formally inaugurated by Pervaiz Rashid along with Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal and special assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatimi.
While taking round of exhibition-hall, the Information Minister said the Chinese artists through their artistic work presented themselves as true messenger of their growing relationship, both in economic and culture sectors. He also awarded them certificates of excellence for their outstanding work.
Chinese ambassador Sun Weidong who was also present on the occasion in his brief remarks said that the paintings jointly produced by the Chinese and Pakistani artists represented their heart-warming sentiments for the people of two countries and their growing socio-economic partnership.
While referring to game-changer China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, the ambassador said it will bring their friendship to a new height. This friendship, he added, was coming up as “higher, deeper and sweeter” that meets the common aspirations of their people. The exhibition is part of the celebrations of 67th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China organised by the Chinese Embassy in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of the Arts.
The Chinese artists showed their rare gesture of goodwill and love towards Pakistani people, by donating proceeds for the welfare purpose.Chairman PNCA Syed Jamal Shah while introducing the exhibition said that wife of Chinese ambassador Madam Bao Jiqing selected the paintings that will be put on auction. There will be silent auction for the artwork and its proceedings will go towards the philanthropic cause of girls’ education in the country less-developed and remote regions.
The paintings were drawn by around nine artists from China and eight from Pakistan. These showed landscapes depicting scenery of Hunan province, and the tradition life in the two countries. The participating Chinese artists include, He Dong An, Zhang Jinlian, Yang Baono, Sun Jianhua, Yan Fuchu, Li Zhe, Wang Qi, and Yuan Youqi and Liu Huilong.
The Chinese calligraphy is divided in 8 periods belong to different dynasties like Han dynasty, pre Qin and Qin dynasties and Ming etc. All these period have different styles. The artists created art works through on the spot painting to provide opportunity to the audience to see and enjoy the special charm of Chinese calligraphy and paintings.
