Illicit manufacturing of explosive material discussed

CHAKWAL: A meeting presided over by Chakwal DCO Mahmood Javed Bhatti Thursday expressed concern over illegal manufacturing of explosive material in the district.
DPO Munir Masood Marath and Major Nasrullah also attended the meeting. The meeting was told that more than 14,500 metric ton explosive material is manufactured in the country without any blasting service system. The body was briefed that legislation was underway to introduce the blasting service system in the country because the system is functioning in 56 countries of the world. Heads of other relevant departments were also present. Maj Nasrullah said stressed the need of checking illegal manufacturing of explosive materials. The DPO said police had recovered a huge quantity of explosive material from the Salt Range area from the accused. The meeting was told that only internationally registered companies should be allowed to make blasting. The DCO banned transportation of explosive material from one area to the other in the district.
