KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has received applauses, congratulations and well-wishes for organising a historic ‘Salam Shuhda’ rally in the city last Sunday.
President PPPP Asif Ali Zardari, appreciating the efforts and organisational work of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, telephoned him on Tuesday and congratulated him for organising such a mammoth rally in Karachi.
He also appreciated him for his efforts to establish good governance in the province and assured him of his full support. “I am sure you would be serving the people of Sindh who have always voted PPP to power,” he said.
The chief minister thanked the party chief for his appreciation and said “it is an honour for me that the party president is eulogizing my work and also extending full support for better governance and service to the poor people of Sindh.”
He assured him that he would be serving Sindh irrespective of political affiliations of the people.Meanwhile, PPP leader and former federal information minister Qamarzaman Kaira and Chaudhry Manzoor called on Sindh chief minister and had political discussion over a cup of tea here at the CM House.
Kaira, appreciating the efforts of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah for organising a well-organised mammoth rally in Karachi, said that it was spontaneous response of the people of Karachi which showed their confidence in the party. “The performance of your government in serving the city, in establishing good governance and delivery of services in all the sectors were one of the few contributing factors in the making the rally most successful,” he said and also appreciated the speeches of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and saluted his energy.
The chief minister said that he was with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on her truck when she had returned to Karachi on October 18, 2007. “Believe me I felt the same spirit, enthusiasm and energy in Chairman Bilawal Bhutto as I had witnessed in Shaheed Rani,” he said.
Also, former president AJK Sardar Yaqoob, alongwith a delegation of PPP Azad Kashmir, met Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah at the CM House and congratulated him for organising a huge rally in Karachi. The chief minister thanked Sardar Yaqoob for his appreciation.
