Safari train tour arranged from Peshawar to Attock Khurd

PESHAWAR: The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP), in collaboration with the Pakistan Railways and Sehrai Tours, organised a safari train tour from Peshawar to Attock Khurd and the adjacent historical sites in commemoration of the Allama Iqbal Day.
A press release said the Abasin Train Safari is a study-cum-fun filled tour that was enjoyed by the 70 students from different schools of Peshawar.The train left the Peshawar Cantt Railway Station at 9am and on reaching Attock Khurd the students accompanied by teachers were briefed about the historical significance of the Railway Bridge and station along with other sites. The students were provided lunch lunch boxes along with refreshments by TCKP.The tour was in connection with a unique scheme planned by the Tourism Department for six months to attract tourists.
According to the scheme, train trips will be arranged on the special days of the year. The train tour in December has been themed as Quaid-e-Azam Day, January 2016 as New Year Celebration, February 5, 2016 as Kashmir Day, March 23, 2016 as Pakistan Day and the excursion in April has been titled as Spring Festival.
The total capacity of the parlour car 2705 is 70 and the ticket is priced Rs1,500 per seat. The tickets could be obtained from the Tourist Information Centre located close to the Peshawar Museum.
The standard package includes welcome band at the railway station, refreshment on board, lunch boxes at site with cold drinks and folk music display.The scheduled trips from Peshawar to Attock Khurd will be via safari train while the tourists will return via the road.
