Function for outgoing, newly-appointed
officers at Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: The district administration on Monday organised a special function in the honour of retiring staffers as well as for the newly-appointed and transferred officers at the Bahawalpur Circuit House.
The ceremony was organised on the direction of DCO Dr Ehtisham Anwar in the honour of DCO Office minor ranks retiring staffers, including peons, drivers and clerks. Minister of State for Higher Education and Interior Engineer Baleeghur Rehman, Punjab Minister for Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar, GOC 35 Division Bahawalpur Amjad Khattak, newly-appointed Bahawalpur Station Commander and Cantonment Board president Brig Mansoor Janjua, Chief of Staff 31 Core Brig Raza Eezad, Commander of 35 Divisional Artillery Brig Abid Hussain Shah, District and Sessions Judge Rehan Bashir, DCO Dr Ehtisham Anwar, DPO Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, ACE Director Tariq Hussain, ACs Amir Hussain, Abdul Rauf Mehr, Kazim Pirzada, prominent politicians including Mian Najeebuddin Awaisi, Ali Hassan Gilani, Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, Afzal Gil, Qazi Adnan Farid, Khalid Mahmood, Mian Usman Abbasi, IUB VC Prof Qaisar Mushtaq, Habibullah Bhutta, Syed Tabish Alweri, Matiullah Khan, Shahid Hassan Rizvi, civil and military bureaucrats, civil and sessions judges, civil society representatives, doctors, lawyers, journalists and others attended the function. The speakers paid rich tribute to the splendid services rendered by outgoing Ahmadpur East AC Rana Amjad Ali and Hasilpur AC Waseem Anwar Khan. They also welcomed the newly-appointed officers at Bahawalpur. Later, Punjab Minister Malik Iqbal presented commemorative shields to assistant Muhammad Amin, driver Hazoor Bakhsh, Naib Qasid Muhammad Hanif, Muhammad Altaf and Ghulam Farid on their retirement.
3 motorcyclists killed in Bahawalpur accidents

BAHAWALPUR: Three motorcyclists were killed in separate road accidents here on Sunday night.
Muhammad Abbas and Sajid Ali of Chak 250 and Chak 251/HR were on their way by a bike when their motorbike collided with a bridge near Chak 55/4-R on Haroonabad-Dharanwala Road. As a result, both died on the spot. In another incident, Zeeshan Ali of Chak 253/HR was killed in an accident when he was going to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
