Fesco issues final notices to defaulter govt depts

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) on Saturday issued final notices to 26 government departments to clear their outstanding electricity bills otherwise their connections will be disconnected.
According to a spokesman for the company, the defaulting government departments included Pakistan Railway, Chief Engineer, Chashma Right Bank Canal Project, Jail Department, police, Wasa, Health Department, Punjab Livestock, Revenue Department, District Roads and Buildings Department, TMA Chiniot, Samundri, Iqbal Town, Gojra, Toba Tek Singh, Kamalia, Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali and Isa Khel. Meanwhile, Fesco CEO Rashid Ahmad Aslam has directed Chief Commercial Officer Sardar Masood Iqbal to ensure the recovery of outstanding electricity bills from these government departments within a week otherwise the power connections of the defaulting government departments should permanently be disconnected.
THREE DEAD IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS: Three people died in separate incidents here on Saturday.
Bushra Bibi ended her life by shooting herself at Khayaban Garden. The motive behind the incident is said to be a domestic dispute. In another incident, two-year-old girl Aleshia died after falling down from the rooftop of her house at Samanabad. Arshad Naveed of Nematabad was killed due to collision of two motorcycles on Jail Road. He was an employee in the Livestock Department at Chiniot. In another yet another incident, Razia Bibi and her relative Shafiq Hussain were injured when their bike collided with another vehicle on Jail Road. The injured were rushed to a hospital.
THREE FESCO OFFICIALS SUSPENDED: Fesco CEO Rashid Ahmad Aslam on Saturday suspended two line superintendents and one meter reading supervisor for poor performance.
They are Ali Raza, Line Superintendent II, Chiniot sub-division, Akhtar Ali, Line Superintendent I, Chiniot, and Maqbool Hussain, meter reading section supervisor.
TWO INJURED YOUNGSTERS DIE AT HOSPITAL: Two youngsters who were injured in separate road accidents died at the Allied Hospital on Saturday. They are Muhammad Shaiban of Chak 201/RB and Muhammad Afzal of Lalian.
