Citizens deprived of cash, valuables

GUJRANWALA: Citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables in various incidents here on Friday.

At Kot Ladha bandits intercepted Ilyas and his wife and snatched Rs 42,000, gold ornaments and two cell phones.

Hashim was deprived of Rs 4,000, a new motorcycle and a cellphone in Sadar Wazirabad area.

In Feorzwala, Waleed was deprived of Rs 20,000, a gold ring and two cellphones.

Chiragh Din was robbed of Rs 18,000 and two cellphones in Aroop area.

In Dhulley robbers snatched Rs 13,000 and a cellphone from Usman.

Talha was robbed of Rs 22,000 and a cellphone in Gakhar.

Asghar was also deprived of Rs 20,000 and two cellphones in Gakhar.

At Wahndo gunmen took away Rs 9,000, a new motorcycle and a cellphone from Abdul Shakoor.

New motorcycles of Nawaz, Ali Raza and Rashid were stolen.

Thieves took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables from the houses of Ghafar, Muskan and Agha Masood.

Police have registered cases.

LB 2ND PHASE ACTIVITIES: Activities in respect with the second phase of local bodies’ elections have started in Gujranwala where hundreds of candidates submitted their nomination papers to returning officers.

The Election Commission has announced October 14th and 15th for the submission of nomination papers while scrutiny of the papers will be conducted on October 17th and 18th, hearing of appeals will be done on 20th October while election on special seats will be held on November 12th.

CRACKDOWN ON LOW QUALITY CYLINDERS: AC Sadr Nurish Saba Friday raided different areas and sealed eight factories during a crackdown on makers of sub-standard gas cylinders.

The AC asked police to register cases against the makers of the cylinders.

Reportedly, the factory owners involved in making low quality cylinders have been arrested.

 

Baby dies as gun goes off

GUJRANWALA: A five-year-old girl died when her 8-year-old brother fired at her accidently here at Gondlanwala on Friday.

Reportedly, Imran son of Zafar Iqbal was playing with a pistol and he pushed its trigger and its bullet hit Rifat. She was rushed to the DHQ Hospital where she died.
