Muqam says PTI MPA to join PML-N

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will demonstrate its strength on October 16 by holding a public meeting at Takht Bhai in Mardan district, a party leader said.

“PTI Chairman Imran Khan and his party’s government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have disappointed the nation including its own legislators,” Amir Muqam, the Adviser to Prime Minister, told a press conference here on Thursday.

Flanked by the party leaders and activists, Amir Muqam said the PTI MPA Jamshed Mohmand would announce joining the PML-N at the rally. His party, he added, would expose the real face of the PTI leaders at the Takht Bhai meeting and inform the nation about performance of their government during the past three and a half years.

He said they would inaugurate the long-awaited under-construction bridge in Takht Bhai next month. The PML-N leader said the PTI government instead of honouring its commitments and changing the existing system wasted time of the nation and its workers by holding useless protest meetings and sit-ins. “The people of KP had voted the PTI into power for the solution of their problems, but it disappointed them through its negative politics,” he added.

He said it was astonishing to note that the PTI leaders were making tall claims of accountability, but they destroyed the Ehtesab Commission in the province. The nation, he added, did not know about the real agenda of the PTI chief.

By holding a demonstration against the offshore companies, Amir Muqam said, Imran Khan was trying to fool the nation. He claimed that keeping in view the development agenda of the PML-N government, Imran Khan was worried that he would not be able to win even a councillor’s seat in the 2018 general election. He said Imran Khan tried to sabotage the national unity by boycotting the joint sitting of parliament on the Kashmir issue.

He said the October 16 meeting would prove a referendum against the PTI government. He said they would present details of losses the country suffered owing to the useless protests during the last three years.
