ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), the largest E&P company in Pakistan, achieved highest-ever crude oil production rate of 48,767 barrels/day, a statement said on Thursday.
This significant milestone was achieved through greater focus on project completion, work-over jobs and development activities.
The company witnessed a phenomenon of growth stagnation in crude oil production during the last five years; however, production numbers are likely to improve in the coming months after completion of the ongoing projects, it said.
Pakistan’s total crude oil production is 85,000/day and OGDCL’s share is in excess of 57 percent.
The crude oil production achieved by OGDCL has never been matched by any foreign or local E&P company operating in Pakistan.
OGDCL’s engineers and workers did a commendable job and are vigorously pursuing even higher goals, it said.
