Musharraf treason case a waste of time: Zafar

ISLAMABAD: S M Zafar, a prominent legal practitioner, said the high treason case against former military dictator Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf would head towards ‘nowhere’ but it would continue to make the stakeholders ‘restless’ for the next few years.
Talking to The News here on Wednesday he said, “The decision of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to re-investigate the case not only shows no-confidence in the investigation earlier carried out by the government but also makes one think that now the case may take many more years to reach a logical end.” activate its law machinery to follow the court orders and witnesses would again come and record their statements. “In my opinion it would be only wastage of time because nothing would come out of the high treason case against Pervez Musharraf,” he said.
“I suggest the government to find out legal options and let the high treason case meet its own fate.
