Traffic police gets a new chief

Asif Aijaz Shaikh has assumed charge as the Karachi Traffic Police chief as his predecessor, DIG Amir Ahmed Shaikh, left on a four-month ex-Pakistan leave.
As per a Sindh government notification, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Asif Aijaz Shaikh, a BS-20 officer of the Police Services of Pakistan (PSP) and the DIG of the Sindh Reserve Police (SRP) Sindh, Karachi, has been transferred and posted with immediate effect as DIG Traffic, Karachi.
Taking charge of the office, the new DIG on Monday held a meeting with his subordinates to review plans for ensuring smooth flow of traffic during Muharram processions.
DIG Asif Aijaz Shaikh instructed his subordinates to remain in contact with all the traffic officials and maintain smooth flow of traffic.
