Procession of seventh Muharram taken out in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: Almost 150 years old Mehndi procession of 7th Muharram was taken out amid tight security here on Sunday.
The procession was taken out from Astana Syed Roshan Ali, Mohallah Aam Khas. The procession after passing through Kocha Wadd Qasab, Machli Bazaar, Chowk Bazaar, Chah Fateh Khan Bazaar culminated at Astana Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, Mohallah Chah Fateh Khan. Total 25 Azadari processions were taken out and 62 Majalis were held on the 7th Muharram in Bahawalpur district. Around 1,200 police and Elite Force personnel and volunteers performed their security duties in Bahawalpur district.
