ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq on Sunday said Kashmiris in Indian-held Kashmir (IHK) should be given their due right as per UN resolutions to decide their future.

Addressing the Kashmir session at the 43rd annual meeting of the JI Workers Council of AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, he said India was committing human rights violations in IHK and its cruel face had been exposed before the international community. Kashmir was not just a problem of the people of the valley but an issue related to the whole Pakistani nation and the Muslim world.

The JI chief appreciated the efforts of Syed Ali Geelani and vowed to support the Kashmiris struggle for freedom till the last drop of his blood. Terming Kashmir an incomplete agenda of the creation of Pakistan, he said Kashmiri freedom fighters were fighting for the completion of this agenda. He said the relation between Pakistan and Kashmir was that of soul and body.

The JI secretary general urged the international community to play its due role and demanded the United Nations to ensure the grant of right to self-determination to Kashmiris. Other who spoke on the occasion included JI Naib Ameer Hafiz Idrees, Abdul Rasheed Turabi and Hurriyet Conference Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi.
