Locals mugged in several strikes in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: Citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables in several incidents in different areas of Gujranwala on Thursday.
Nawaz and his wife were intercepted by three bandits in Nwshera Virkan police limits and were deprived of Rs 22,000, gold ornaments and a new motorcycle.
In Eminabad robbers snatched Rs 25,000, gold ornaments and a cell phone from Ahtesham and his wife. Habib was deprived of Rs 20,000 and two cell phones in Ahmadnagar area. In Ferozewala, Khalid was robbed of Rs 18,000 and two cell phones. Waheed was deprived of Rs 27,000 and two mobile phones in city Wazirabad area. In Garjakh, gunmen snatched Rs 16,000 and a cell phone from Alia. Robbers snatched Rs 11,000 and two cell phones from Haleem Ahmed in Peoples’ Colony. In Sabzi Mandi police limits, Asim was deprived of Rs 9,000 and a cell phone. Shahbaz was deprived of his new motorcycle in Khiali area. New motorcycle of Irfan was also stolen in Cantt police limits.
15 processions, 194 Majalis held

GUJRANWALA: Some fifteen processions and 194 Majalis were held in different areas of the district on Thursday.
Reportedly, processions were taken out from Baghbanpura, Ladhewala Warraich, Qila Didar Singh, Khiali, Aroop, Jinnah Road, Eminabad, Ahmadnagar and Alipur Chattha areas amid tight security.
