CTD claims arrest of terrorist
PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday arrested Muhammad Tariq alias Qari stated to be an active member of a banned militant organization. As per the communiqué issued here, the CTD said the police arrested Muhammad Tariq aka Qari, a resident of Mohmand Agency, from the Charsadda Road in Peshawar in a successful action. He was later shifted to an unknown place for interrogation.
The press release said a few days back the CTD Peshawar Police had an encounter with the terrorists at Qazi Killay in rural Peshawar. It said one of the terrorists Qabees aka Hamza, an Afghan national, was arrested and two of his accomplices had escaped.
It added that 8kg explosives were was recovered from his possession. The CTD said the second terrorist Muhammad Tariq alias Qari who had escaped has now been arrested. It hoped the third terrorist would be nabbed soon as special teams had launched raids for his arrest.
