Five of a family injured over monetary dispute

OKARA: Five members of a family were injured over a monetary dispute at Caravan Town on Wednesday.
Accused Riaz purchased some items from the shop of Nadeem some time ago but did not pay him the amount. On the day of the incident, when Nadeem demanded his amount from Riaz, he got infuriated. Later, Riaz along with his 14 accomplices entered the house of Nadeem and allegedly beat and injured Nadeem, his brother Majhu, son-in-law Nasir and nephews Raheel and Jasim. B-Division police have registered a case.
MURDER CASE REGISTERED: Chuchak police on Wednesday handed over the dead body of an old woman to her family after registering a murder case.
Accused Waheed, Rashid and their accomplices had allegedly attacked their rivals Shaukat, his brother Liaqat and mother Saira Bibi with batons and sticks at Mitha Bhatti village on Tuesday and injured them severely. Later, Saira had died and her body was shifted to a hospital for post-mortem.
SUBSTANDARD BEEF SEIZED: Sadar police on Wednesday seized 360kg substandard beef.
On a tip-off, veterinary Dr Muhammad Saqib Mujeeb and the police checked a van driving by Muhammad Naveed and found substandard meat. The police have registered a case.
