LAHORE: The PML-N won the battle in Lahore, its stronghold, and claimed to have won a majority by securing 186 seats out of a total of 274 while the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf could only bag nine seats. The unofficial result of 210 seats has been announced.
In Lahore, the PML-N was leading with 186 UC chairmen seats while the PTI could only manage nine with independent candidates bagging 24. Some 6,509 candidates were in the run for 274 slots of chairman/vice-chairman and 1,664 councilors.
In Faisalabad out of a total 468 seats, the PML-N had secured 77 seats and the PTI had won 22 seats while independents had won 105 seats.
