Highwayman killed by accomplices firing

OKARA: A highwayman was killed by the firing of his own accomplices during an encounter with police at Chak 9/GD on Saturday night.
According to District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Rana, three highwaymen snatched a motorcycle from Gulzar of Chak 12/GD and escaped. On information, Satghara police rushed to the spot and started chasing the dacoits. Seeing the police, the dacoits opened fire on them. The police also retaliated. As a result, one of the highwaymen was killed on the spot while the others fled. According to the police, the highwayman was killed by the firing of his own accomplices. Meanwhile, talking to newsmen, Renala Khurd DSP Inamul Haq said that the killed highwayman was identified as Iqbal alias Bali. He was wanted by the police in dozens of cases of dacoity, robbery and murder.

According to the FIR No 971/16, dated 01-10-16, Maj (retd) Ijaz Shahid Mohal came to the DPO Office to obtain a police clearance certificate. Sitting in the office, Ijaz allegedly started using abusive language against the government and the police. The security staff asked him not use such language in the office. To it, he allegedly misbehaved and exchanged hot words with security branch in-charge SI Safdar Ali. The accused also tore his clothes and bit him.
Unidentified men booked for cutting communication cable

OKARA: Sadr police on Saturday registered a case against unidentified people on the charge of cutting a communication cable of a sensitive institution near Canal View on Rao Sikandar Road.
The case was registered on the complaint of Naik Muhammad Mushtaq. According to the FIR No 969/16, the unidentified men cut the cable, causing inconvenience in communication and loss of RS 250,000.
