Clerks observe strike against
‘unethical’ attitude of ACE officials

OKARA: Clerical staff of the district coordination and tehsildar offices went on strike against the alleged unethical attitude of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) officials with a reader during a raid in the district complex on Thursday.
On a tip-off, the ACE assistant director along with the special judicial magistrate raided the court of the tehsildar but failed to recover bribery amount from reader Jehangir. To it, the ACE raiding team allegedly got the reader undressed to search him thoroughly. When other employees of the tehsildar office came to know about the incident, they gathered and staged a demonstration against the ACE officials. Later, the DCO office staff also joined the demonstration.
Meanwhile, talking to newsmen, All Pakistan Clerks Association (Apca) district president Gohar Abbas Zaidi and general secretary Naeemul Ghani said that they held a meeting with DCO Sucrat Aman Rana regarding the incident and he advised them to submit an application in this regard. They said that they had submitted an application to the DCO. When contacted, ACE Assistant Director Asif Noor said that he was accompanied by the special judicial magistrate and his team took no unethical action against the reader.
