ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had opened another chapter of one-party accountability, which will result in dangerous consequences.
“For the NAB everything is good all across the country with the exception of Pakistan People’s Party,” Zardari said in a statement after the NAB’s decision to undertake inquiries into the alleged corruption by the PPP provincial ministers and MPAs.
Zardari said one should never forget that history will keep the account of what was going on today and warned of dangerous consequences. The PPP co-chairman said the NAB should better shut down all its offices in the country and move to the Pakistan People’s Party Secretariat. He said the NAB through its decisions against Arbab Alamgir, Asma Arbab and Pir Mazharul Haq had given credence to claims that accountability was only to be faced by the People’s Party while all others fall outside the jurisdiction of the NAB.
