Anti-polio drive from 26th

FAISALABAD: As many as 1.3 million children under five years of age would be administered anti-polio drops in the district during a three-day drive scheduled to begin from September 26, said DCO Salman Ghani.
Inaugurating an anti-polio campaign at Pakhtun locality on Millat Road on Saturday, he said that the anti-polio campaigns were being carried out to completely end the polio virus from the country. He urged the parents to get their children vaccinated during the anti-polio campaign. The DCO directed the Health Department officers for effective monitoring of the campaign to achieve the 100 per cent target. He said that the anti-polio teams should be present on static points at bus stands, busiest intersections, markets, hospitals, motorway, railway station, recreational places and others sites. He said that no negligence would be tolerated during the campaign.
Health District Officer Dr Asif Shahzad said that all necessary arrangements had been finalised to implement the campaign. He said that total 3,003 anti-polio teams would remain active during the campaign for administering the polio vaccine to the children. Health EDO Dr Nawazish Goraya, Dr Bilal and others were also present.
