The Sindh High Court issued notices to the federal and provincial law officers, the IGP and others on petitions against illegal detention of citizens by the law enforcement agencies personnel.
Petitioners Mohammad Naveed, Quartul Ain, Husn Alam, Zakir Ali Khan, and Fatima Bibi submitted that law enforcement agencies personnel had picked up Mohammad Arshad, Mohammad Shahid, Mohammad Alamgir, Majid Ali Khan and Mohammad Amir from Pak Colony, Jacob Line, Saudabad, Korangi, and Orangi Town in different raids and their whereabouts were unknown.
They said police were neither disclosing the whereabouts of the detained men, nor informing them about the details of the cases against them.
The court was requested to direct the police and law enforcement agencies to disclose the whereabouts of the detained men and provide details of cases, if any, against them.
