CONCERN OVER PROMOTION OF TEACHERS: Teachers have shown concern over issuance of promotion notification of 30 female Secondary School Teachers (SSTs) from BPS-16 to BPS-17 allegedly without preparing seniority list.
All Punjab Teacher Alliance president Sufi Ramzan while addressing a press conference alleged that the Education EDO promoted 30 female teachers under notification No 10533-539/Admin without preparing the seniority list and without observing performance and merit of teachers. He said that schoolteachers were being provided transfer opportunity near to their homes under the new transfer policy but the Jhang EDO Education was holding his office for the last four years, which was a clear violence of transfer policy. He alleged that the EDO Education was using the authority of DO (HRM) which was against the administrative and financial rules. He demanded the authorities take notice of the issue. When contacted, EDO Education Nasim Ahmed Zahid said that he was performing his duty with honesty. Commenting on the latest promotion notification of the SSTs, he said that the promoted teachers would hold the same post and inter-see seniority of their respective category would remain intact. The award of higher grade from BPS-16 to BPS-17 to female SSTs would not be considered as promotion and they would not have the right to claim to higher post, he added.
