Nandipur Power Plant record tear case

Security guard remanded for three more days

GUJRANWALA: Civil Judge Nuzhat Jabeen on Friday granted three more days physical remand of former security guard of the Nandipur Power Plant.

The police produced Baliqas Khan before the court in the Nandipur Power Plant record tear case and demanded nine days more remand. The police informed the court that three torn registers had been recovered from the accused while the names of his companions were still not revealed and more remand was needed for this purpose.

ARREST OF DOCTOR ORDERED IN CORRUPTION CASE: Anti-Corruption Establishment Director Rana Abdul Shakoor on Friday directed to arrest Sialkot Medical Officer Munir Ahmad Shah for corruption and misuse of power.

The ACE director also ordered registration of a case against the accused doctor. The ACE director also directed to register corruption cases against patwaris Zafar Iqbal and Naseer Ahmed for allegedly involving in tempering with official record and allegedly issuing bogus property documents.

PHA EMPLOYEES PROTEST: Dozens of PHA employees staged a demonstration against termination of their services in front of the DCO Office here.

The protesters led by labour leader Naseeruddin Humayun chanted slogans against the PHA officers and alleged that nearly 200 contractual officials had been dismissed by the authorities without any reason.

YOUTH CRUSHED BY TRAIN: A youth was crushed to death under the wheels of a train at Sheranwala Bagh Railway Gate here on Friday.

Salman was crossing the railway lines when suddenly a train arrived and crushed him under its wheels.

BIKER KILLED IN ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist was killed in an accident on the GT Road here on Friday.

Usman was on his way by a motorcycle when his bike collided with another motorcycle. As a result, Usman died on the spot.

 

Birthday of Shahbaz Sharif

Cake cutting ceremony held at Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: A cake cutting ceremony was held in connection with the birthday of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif here.

The function was organised at the Gulshan Iqbal Park under the leadership of MPA Taufiq Butt. The PML-N workers performed dance on drum beats. MPA Taufiq Butt said that we had cancelled our protest against PTI Raiwind March on the directions of our leader Shahbaz Sharif.
