The Uri attack

This refers to the editorial ‘Indian tricks’ (September 20). There is no denying the fact that there is a method in the Uri attack. The editorial has rightly questioned how a ‘heavily-fortified camp’ was impinged upon by militants. Once again this incident has exposed India’s bellicosity. India is blaming Pakistan only to cover his own intelligence lapse. The timing of the Uri attack is also very crucial.

It is imperative for India to revisit its Kashmir policy. The atrocities committed by Indian forces against innocent Kashmiris have no parallel in recent history. India’s current gimmicks may put the region’s peace at stake. The world community, and especially the US, can play a role in deescalating the warlike situation in the region and resolving the Kashmir conflict.
