KARACHI: Presenting his analysis, the host Shahzeb Khanzada said in the programme ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath’ on Tuesday that the threat of Daesh was increasing in Pakistan as he said the footprints of Daesh in Karachi were clearly visible.
He referred to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), which issued a list of 53 terrorists, who had links with Daesh and the list included the educated people, while there were also reports that Daesh also had links with the dangerous terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. It should also be an eye-opener for the security authorities how Daesh was using its sympathisers for activities in Pakistan.
Analysing new troubles worrying Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on political and defence fronts are the differences and sour relations between his own ministers, which are resulting into hindrances against good governance. Not only the ministers are nourishing differences, some ministers also are not on good terms with Shahbaz Sharif.
Shahzeb Khanzada said there were visibly clear differences between some federal ministers, particularly, between Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif and Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also joined Khwaja Asif in vehemently criticising the Planning Commission.
Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Asif said Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is of the same mind with him that there is no need of the Planning Commission for the country. He said: “Our criticism on Planning Commission has nothing to do with Ahsan Iqbal. It was just a joke that I had mentioned the words Shah Jahan. No one should take it to heart. I did not mean to mock at and I apologise if it has hurt anyone. I nourish no differences or personal bitterness with Ahsan Iqbal.”
On the other hand, he said, Shahbaz Sharif is his friend for the last fifty years. There is nothing to worry about it because such old friends

may also become annoyed with each other.” Khwaja Asif added: “I have not been on speaking terms with Chaudhry Nisar for the last four years but this does not go against the interests of the country,” he further said.
In charge of Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Raja Omar Khattab also spoke in the programme. Sympathisers of Daesh do exist in Karachi but they have no connections with Daesh.
He informed that differences had developed in al-Qaeda of the Subcontinent and a group, led by Abdul Aziz, detached and announced to work for Daesh, although they have not come into direct contact with Daesh so far.
Perhaps some of the Taliban from Afghanistan and Waziristan have links with Daesh, he added. The CTD chief informed that the original name of Abdul Aziz is Abdullah Yusuf Bin Abdul Aziz, a resident of Karachi. Abdul Aziz had left Karachi with the intention of going to Syria.
Omar Khattab said there were no evidence found in the mobile phones or laptops that Abdul Aziz had ever contacted or emailed them. He said the law-enforcement agencies are making all-out efforts to crush the terrorists.
Senior journalist Rahimullah Yusufzai also participated in the programme. He said the Daesh is very strong in Afghanistan but has little existence in Pakistan. He said the Taliban who had joined Daesh have fled to Afghanistan from Pakistan. He informed that there are Daesh men in three districts of Nangarhar, the Afghanistan’s province along Pakistan border. He said some important leaders of Daesh were killed in the very beginning in Afghanistan and still there was increase of Daesh.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had given the assurances of solving all our problems, said Chairman All Pakistan Textile Manufacturers’ Association (APTMA) Amir Fayyaz Siddiqi but none of the commitments have been fulfilled so far. He pointed out that the export of textile remained 21 percent - $450 million – lesser this year. He said the exports reduced to $850 million from July 2014 till now.
