Vendor, sons booked for ‘toxic’ ice cream

JHANG: Athara Hazari police booked a local ice cream vendor and his two sons on the charges of selling substandard ice cream to 57 children, who fainted after consuming it.
The children during a marriage function at Kotli Baqir Shah village purchased ice cream from Irshad and his sons Usman and Mehboob and felt pain in their abdomens and fainted after consuming it. They were rushed to the THQ Hospital.
On the directions of the DCO, Tehsil Sanitary Inspector Khalid Mehmood collected ice cream samples and sent it to a laboratory.
