Rootsians celebrate International Day of Peace

Roots Garden schools and Roots IVY schools celebrated ‘World Peace Day’ to express their feelings, ideas and visions of a peaceful world by holding poster competition, poetry competition, essay competition, tableau competition and speech competition on the theme ‘Citizenship- How can we contribute to make our community better.’
Rootsians depicted this day with enlightening activities. Students were given different themes to write essays on citizenship & Peace. Students presented a magnificent tableau on theme “Honesty is the best policy”. Students also made a ‘Rule book’ with the help of their teachers. Teachers gave presentations to educate students about “empathy, honesty, sharing and caring.
Students made head gears with the help of their art teachers. Students were wearing head gears and holding banners with written slogans like ‘Follow the rules to become a good citizen’, ‘spread love ,give flower and make life beautiful like rainbow’, ‘grow happiness, love and peace’, ‘live together in peace’, ‘let there be peace in the world’, ‘join hands to be a volunteer’, ‘let all love peace with warm’, ‘we all smile in one language’, ‘respect the rights of others’, ‘friendship promotes peace’, etc.
Mrs. Riffat Mushtaq, founder and chairperson of Roots School System highlighted the worth and importance of peace by saying, “On this International Day of Peace, let us pledge to teach our children the value of tolerance and mutual respect. Let us invest in the schools and teachers that will build a fair and inclusive world that embraces diversity. Let us fight for peace and defend it with all our might.”
In the end all students signed a pledge to be a good citizen& to make their country a peaceful land.
