ISLAMABAD: Intelligence agencies have passed a threat alert to security and law enforcement agencies about a series of possible terrorist attacks at sensitive installations in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Quetta and Sargodha, sources in security agencies told The News.
The alert letter said that the leadership of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) embroiled in Badaber Camp, Peshawar, attack has planned a series of terrorist attacks, saying, “Umar Mansoor, Ameer of TTP Darra Adamkhel while accepting the responsibility of the attack on Badaber Airbase Peshawar, has threatened to launch more attacks on sensitive installations in other cities.”
Umar Mansoor, along with his group, at present, is hiding in District Achin and District Naziyan of Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
“He is being facilitated by hostile agencies. He is planning to launch similar attacks in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Quetta and Sargodha.”
Extreme vigilance and heightened security measures have been suggested by the intelligence agencies to avoid any untoward incident.
