KARACHI: In a first of its kind meeting, around 40 former hockey Olympians and internationals, many of them with experience in coaching, will gather at the Pakistan Hockey Federation office in Lahore for a brainstorming session on Tuesday (today), PHF has announced.
They will discuss in detail, the playing styles, patterns of hockey, past and present.
They will suggest a general pattern of play based on the traditional Pakistani style while incorporating the modern requirements.
The recommended pattern might form the basis of coaching in the country from the grassroots level, a PHF spokesman said.
They will also review the one-year performance of the present set up of the PHF. The federation’s Vision 2020 Programme will also be discussed.
Islahuddin, Shahnaz Sheikh and Samiullah are among those invited.
PHF will also discuss the prospects of Pakistan Hockey League and take the opinion of all hockey stalwarts to make the event successful.
