Traders in Swabi to observe strike against fines
SWABI: The Anjuman-i-Tajiran, Swabi city, on Sunday announced that they would observe a complete shutter down strike from Wednesday in the district headquarters against the imposition of fines by the district administration.
The business community held a four-hour-long gathering to discuss their problems. The meeting was presided over by their president Laiq Khan.Laiq Khan told reporters that they had taken a unanimous decision and all the markets in the district headquarters would remain closed as a protest from Wednesday.
He said the strike would continue till the authorities withdrew what he termed unjust fines. He said that prices of some commodities like rice, pulses and others had increased but officials did not issue the price lists.Laiq Khan added that the markets would remain completely closed.
