A 65-year-old man and his son were gunned down while another man was stabbed to death due to ‘domestic disputes’ in separate incidents reported in the city, on Sunday.
Mastan Khan and his 26-year-old son Muhammad Umar Khan were gunned down by men on a motorcycle right outside Mateen Complex, near Nazi Chowk situated in Sector 16-A.
They were taken to the JPMC in a critical condition when they breathed their last.
According to officials of Shah Lateef Town, the deceased hailed from Mohamand Agency, in Khyber Paktunkhwa.
They claimed that Mastan’s elder son had in 2012 had eloped with a woman he wanted to marry. However, the move did not go down well with the woman’s family who lodged an FIR. Mastan was quick to return the favour by getting an attempt-to-murder FIR registered against the girl’s father.
Three years later, the police claimed that the girl’s father got back at Mastan by shooting him and his son.
Abbas Qurashi, 65, was stabbed by unknown men with a sharp-edged weapon in Laraib Garden Apartment, situated in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. His family took him to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment but he died on his way to the hospital. According to police the deceased was killed due to some personal enmity.
