Progress on mining rules draft reviewed
PESHAWAR: A meeting reviewed progress on the framing and finalisation of the mining rules, being a legal requirement upon recent promulgation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation Ordinance 2016.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Minerals Development and Labour Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli urgently called the meeting of the senior officials of the department at her office in Civil Secretariat on Saturday.
The meeting also reviewed the operational issues of the Online Licensing System, which has been designed to facilitate interested investors and to ensure transparency in the overall process of grant of titles for minerals across the province.
The minister asked the officials of the department to expedite progress on finalisation of all geographic and technical information online to promote and encourage investments in the minerals sector.
