Rangers DG spent Eid with troops

SIALKOT: Rangers Punjab Director General Maj-Gen Umar Farooq Burki spent Eidul Azha holidays with the officers and troops at Pasrur and Shakargarh sectors of Sialkot Working Boundary.

Apart from offering Eid prayers, he presented sweets to the officers and troops and lauded their dedication in performing duties with full commitment. He said that the valiant officers and troops of the Punjab Rangers would keep serving on all religious and festive occasions to contribute to ensuring peace at the national frontiers. Maj-Gen Umar Farooq Burki reiterated that the Punjab Rangers would never shy away from offering any sacrifice towards fulfillment of their responsibilities.

 

Couple among three murdered in Sialkot

SIALKOT: Three people, including a couple, were killed in two incidents during Eid days here.

In the first incident, Rizwan (22) was allegedly shot dead by his brothers-in-law Mudassar and Ghazanfar over a domestic dispute near Hajipura Qabristan in Hajipura police limits. The accused managed to escape after committing the murder.

In the second incident, Ansah had contracted love marriage with Qasim against the will of her family at Chinwalai village in Satra police limits. Ansah and her husband Qasim were allegedly stabbed to death by Falak Sher, Bashir, Mumtaz, Surraya Bibi, Tahir, Shakeel, Zulfiqar and Istakhar. Police have registered separate cases and started investigations.
