OKARA: Police arrested six kite flyers.
A-division police arrested Mehboob Ali, Arslan, Talib, Tanzeel, Shamim Alam. While B-division police arrested Bilal Munawar and registered cases against them.
LAWYER PASSES AWAY: Former District Bar Association president and senior lawyer Haji Khalid Saeed, 50, died of cardiac arrest.
A large number of people, including MNA Riazul Haq Juj, Punjab Minister Mian Yawar Zaman, former MNAs Chaudhry Sajjadul Hassan, Chaudhry Muhammad Arif, former provincial ministers Rana Ikram Rabbani, Haji Muhammad Yar Khan Lashari, Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna, former tehsil nazim Rao Jamil Akhtar, District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq, Pakistan Bar Council member Mian Shafiq Bhandara, Punjab Bar Council members Akhtar Hussain Bhatti, Sayed Riaz Karmani, DBA president Rai Muhammad Arshad Raza, Renala Bar president Pir Umar Jabir Bodla, former vice chairman Pakistan Bar Council Muhammad Ramzan Chaudhry, patron-in-chief Okara Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad Iqbal, President Markazi Anjuman Tajiran Haji Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem Sadiq and several judges attended his funeral.
The DBA announced a three-day mourning for Haji Khalid. The DBA is offering Fateha for the departed soul at Quaid-e-Azam Bar Hall on Friday at 11 am.
Three die in accidents

OKARA: Three people, including a woman, died in two road accidents. Muhammad Amir of Bhahawalnagar and his mother Ruqqaiya Bibi and sister Amina were going to Pakpattan on a motorcycle. When they reached near Mirzapur bridge, a speeding car hit them, leaving Amir and Ruqqaiya dead on the spot and Amina wounded critically. In the second incident, Fayaz and his friend Saif of village 5/GD were riding a motorcycle, when they fell into a pit on the road. As a result, Fayaz died on the spot and Saif suffered injuries and was rushed to hospital.
