Security plan chalked out for Eid

PESHAWAR: A strict security plan has been chalked out for Eidul Azha in the provincial capitals and rest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Security will remain on high alert after threats of terror attacks during the Eid holidays.

The cops have been directed to remain vigilant during Eid days.

As many as 4,300 policemen will be deployed in Peshawar for maintaining law and order during Eid holidays. The security has been beefed up at entry points to the city as well as mosques, crowded public places and trade centres.

According to the officials, 1,056 police personnel will be deployed for security of 175 big mosques in the city during Eid prayers. Besides, over 600 cops have been deployed in 60 main trade centres in the city.

Another 1,000 policemen, supported by 118 policewomen will be patrolling the trade centres and public places of Peshawar during Eid.

“As many as 21 additional patrolling cars of the Rapid Response Force and Quick Response Force are deployed in the city. Seven deputy superintendent of police will be supervising the security arrangements during Eid,” said an official. A number of suspects and proclaimed offenders were arrested during raids.
