Defunct outfits barred from collecting hides

MULTAN: The City District Government Friday told defunct outfits that they were not allowed to operate and collect hides from citizens on Eidul Azha.

Addressing a press conference at Multan Circuit House, DCO Nadir Chattha said a stern action would be taken against the banned outfits if their workers continued collecting hides. He said registered hide collection centres would be notified where citizens can sell or donate hides. The DCO said Solid Waste Management Company has been assigned special tasks to ensure cleanliness during Eid days and at least 150,000 special bags would be given to people for animal waste and contaminants. He said section 144 had been imposed in the city and selling of animals in the city had been also banned to avoid Congo attack.

CONGO KITS DISTRIBUTED: DCO Nadir Chattha Friday said the Multan City District Government has distributed Congo kits at sacrificial animal markets first time in the province. The kits include gloves, special masks and dress and it is provided to buyers free of cost. He said handcarts are introduced in the city to collect contaminants and additional containers would be placed at various spots to collect contaminants. He ordered a crackdown on transport owners to stem overcharging and constituted special squad headed by Multan secretary RTA in this connection.
