The news that Punjab has successfully achieved the annual targets of providing skill training to 550,000 youth of the province is commendable keeping in mind the dispiritingly high unemployment rate in the province. It also brings to light the fact that the government is making strenuous efforts to pay heed to the needs of the unemployed and idle youth of the province.
It should be kept in mind that technical and vocational education and training is essential for a skilled workforce. Therefore, it is hoped that the government will continue its efforts to train and educate the youth of the province. Only words will not do anything until they are followed by actions.
