Surgeon conducts 45 surgeries at ATH
ABBOTTABAD: A noted Pakistani-American surgeon conducted 45 surgeries at the Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) during his two weeks stay in the city.
Dr Haroon M Qazi, a plastic surgeon in Indiana, US, has been conducting birth defected surgeries in his hometown for the last three decades. Talking to The News here on Friday, Dr Haroon Qazi said that he has been serving the underprivileged children of the area for 30 years.
He said he visited Abbottabad regularly for repairing birth defects, including cleft lips and cleft palate. Dr Haroonsaid that recent mission was completed with the cooperation of hospital administration and dedicated young doctors and technical staff of operation theatre.
The doctor said that he also trained seven young doctors in general surgery and maxillofacial surgery. Dr Haroon appreciated the efforts of his team members for their dedication.Two young doctors, Dr Anam and Dr Ayesha, said that the knowledge and skills they learned from Dr Haroon would be beneficial for the patients of the area.Dr Haroon had served in the US Army Medical Corp in Vietnam War in 1972.
